    Toronto, Niagara Falls, The Kawarthas, Algonquin Park (canoe adventure) Suggest duration: 2 weeks Stop 1 – Toronto (3 nights) Toronto is a wonderful city to visit with children of all ages. There is so much to see and do in Canada’s biggest city. Highlights for a family include a ride up to the top of the CN Tower, taking a street car across town, a visit to the excellent Royal Ontario Museum to check out the dinosaur exhibit and a stop by the Harbourfront Centre. Stop 2 – Niagara Falls (1 night) Niagara Falls is an easy 90 minute drive from Toronto and an absolute must see for a family on holiday in Ontario. The Falls are spectacular and a trip on The Maid of the Mist or Journey Behind the Falls is really an unforgettable experience. The Niagara region has much else to offer families including plenty of fun attractions. Nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake is a lovely Canadian town which has an Olde World feel and also access to lots of great cycling routes. Stop 3 – Cottage in The Kawarthas (7 nights) For a change of scene and a real chance for your family to unwind, connect with nature, and experience a Canadian summer then a lakeside cottage resort stay is a superb addition to an Ontario holiday. The Kawartha’s has a number of privately owned cottage rentals and housekeeping cottage resorts. Swim in lakes, canoe, kayak, go hiking or enjoy the local attractions including Peterborough Lift Lock, Lang Pioneer Village or stroll the streets of pretty Lakefield. Stop 4 – Algonquin Park (2 nights) Finally no Ontario holiday is complete without a visit to one of Canada’s best loved parks, Algonquin Park. Rent a canoe for the day or join a multi-day guided family canoe trip and explore the waterways of this beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty. The park is also home to many moose, wolves and has an excellent visitor’s centre. Best time to visit: June to September Best ages: All ages although the canoeing is for aged 6 plus.
