This Luxury Clayoquot & Great Bear Adventure combines Vancouver Island's Clayoquot Wilderness Resort and Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort which is deep in Great Bear Rainforest. Both properties are isolated and there is no road access - only sea and air. The adventure begins and ends in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Days 1, 2, 3 & 4: Clayoquot Wilderness Resort The resort offers 20 luxury tents, located in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere reserve. Days 5, 6, 7 & 8: Nimmo Bay Resort The resort offers nine spacious-yet-cozy cabins: six intertidal and three stream-side. Set amongst breathtaking views of the surrounding bay, all nine of the solid wood cabins were carefully constructed with sustainability and the comfort of our guests in mind. A fitness room, hot tub, massage area and even an old-fashioned rope swing are all on site! Nimmo Bay is proud to invite guests into the culinary experience of West Coast sustainable cuisine. Itinerary
DAYS 1, 2, 3 & 4 The Unique World of the Clayoquot Biosphere Reserve Board a float plane in Vancouver and head into the blue. An hour later, you’ll settle into remote extravagance. John and Adele extend the warmest of welcomes while introducing you to Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. The ultimate destination for eco-tourism, this luxury-tented camp is the perfect base for both relaxation and adventure. At Clayoquot, you will be able to choose your activities ‘a la carte’: whale watching excursions, kayaking, hiking, horse riding, fishing, archery, shooting… even zip lining and rock climbing! All activities offer expert guidance and instruction. Seize the opportunity for an unforgettable day-trip to Flores Island! Depart in the morning for Cow Bay, home to resident grey whales. Hike the world-renowned “Wild Side” First Nation Interpretive Trail. The 12-kilometre hike can be broken down into sections of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty and includes remarkable breakers, volcanic shoreline, old-growth forest trails and a cedar boardwalk. The trail’s moderate section allows for a gourmet seaside picnic lunch. Visit Nuu-Chah-Nulth Village – site of the Ahousaht First Nations tribe; return to the resort in time for late afternoon hors d’oeuvres. At Clayoquot, all ages and skill levels are catered to. Explore the beauty of the seascape, and finish off your days with a rejuvenating spa treatment or a soak in the hot tub. Meals are enjoyed in the authentic cookhouse, where locally sourced cuisine completes this extraordinary seaside experience. DAYS 5, 6, 7 & 8 Find Yourself at Nimmo In the next few days, explore the ultimate wilderness playground: the Great Bear Rainforest. Weave the waters of the Broughton Archipelago; discover its hidden mysteries. Based on the unique desires of every group, this adventure is a fluid, ever-changing journey. Our guests enjoy a wide variety of activities, all focused on highlighting this glorious region. Adventurous guests have the chance to go paddle boarding, kayaking and hiking in remote locations, surrounded by wildlife and awe-inspiring scenery. Or kick back in the comfort of our fully enclosed boat, sip a glass of wine, and listen to your guide’s entertaining stories and knowledge of the area. You’ll be surprised at the multitude of cultural experiences available on this wilderness retreat, offering the opportunity to delve into the rich history of the area and its deeply spiritual people. Lunch is always a gourmet picnic, served in a spectacular location: an isolated beach, near a waterfall, or on board our vessel, watching breaching whales and jumping dolphins. A truly exceptional part of the day! For dinner, indulge in a four-course meal back at the lodge. Nimmo Bay features local, fresh coastal cuisine, tailored to your needs by our creative culinary team. From our floating bakery and lodge kitchen right to your plate, we take pride in preparing all aspects of your meal in house (including all breads, ice cream and smoked salmon)!
